Founded in 1979, University Music Service is a full line music company integrating three distinct divisions: mail order, retail, and education. Our mail order business focuses on the procurement of printed music for institutional and individual clients throughout the United States and abroad; orders can be placed by mail, phone, fax, Email or online order form and our professional staff are specialists in choral and piano literature. Our retail business includes the sale of musical accessories and printed music. Our education division encompasses a teaching staff of twelve private instructors, offering lessons for piano, guitar, and voice as well as for woodwind and string instruments.

Dr. Ross W. Ellison, the founder of the firm, serves as its General Manager. An honors graduate of Lebanon Valley College, Ross earned both his M.M. and Ph.D. degrees in music at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He holds both the Choirmaster and Colleague diplomas from the American Guild of Organists, and he earned a Certificate in Management from Messiah College. In addition to his business responsibilities, Ross is a member of the music department faculty at Millersville University, where he teaches music history and theory as well as organ.

Carl R. Myers, Jr., serves as Assistant Manager of the firm. A graduate of the Berklee College of Music, Carl earned his M.A. in music at Mansfield University.

University Music Service occupies a recently built 8,000 square foot facility situated on a three-acre tract of land just south of Hershey, Pennsylvania, along State Route 743. Each of the three business divisions outlined above is housed in a specific portion of the building. Our facility is one of the finest in the Mid-Atlantic States.
